Aerosmith to Replace Steven Tyler
News
All is not well in the world of Aerosmith. After bouts of band in-fighting, singer Steven Tyler has left the Boston group to focus on "something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself – Brand Tyler," he told Classic Rock magazine. But the rest of boys have other plans -- and will recruit a new frontman and continue without him.
"Aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with," guitarist Joe Perry Tweeted. "You just can't take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin. [The] band is playing hotter than ever and our songs need to be played live."
Ever helpful, SPIN editors offer a few suggestions about who could fill in. Tell us yours in the comment section.

Oh man, Corin Tucker doing just about anything would be awesome. Well, maybe not "Jaded," but that's hardly her fault.

Chris Robinson (if and when the Crowes take another hiatus), Rod Stewart (if and when he decides to take a break from canonizing the Great American songbook) or Jeff Keith (assuming he would be willing to take a break from Tesla).
Not to insinuate that Tyler is one of the best frontmen of all time, but there are not many artist who can combine his energy, showmanship and ear for melody.
Of course an Aerosmith concert without him is like looking forward to another Lynyrd Skynyrd record. The same in name only.

That is just disgusting and makes me want to vomit for you to even suggest such horrific people as a possible replacement for the one and only Steven Tyler. Aerosmith IS Steven Tyler, there is no Aerosmith without him.
Steven Tyler is the love of my life. Growing up, while all the other kids talked about growing up and becoming a doctor, I told people that when I grew up I wanted to marry Steven Tyler. You have to understand that their true fans will not jive with this.

I think the boys from aerosmith need to take a page out of the book of enterouge and just say lets hug it out bitch, they arent exactly at a point in their lives where they can just decide to do a break up and who knows where down the line theyll get back together, News break your old and getting older which also makes me think dont you think your too old to act like children? My suggestion go back to your roots guys GO BACK TO YOUR ROOTS find yourselves and put out a kick ass album tour and call it a day

If they do hold auditions or start accepting demos for a Steven Tyler fill-in, I'd get involved for sure. I'm a huge fan, know over 90% of their music, and according to some even look like Steven 'cept for the fact that I'm female. I don't have much of a background in music (high school chorus, karaoke gigs) but we all have to start somewhere. I'm hoping for the best as far as Aerosmith is concerned, but I also understand Steven's desire to make a name for himself outside of Aerosmith.

are you kidding me? Another singer for Aerosmith? Is nothing sacred? Why not start making Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches with mayo and lettuce? Why stop there Joe Perry? Maybe just consider another one of your storied solo albums. Nobody but Steven should ever hold a mic in Aerosmith, end of story

It should be me! and this is why...
I am old just like them.
I know all of their songs, can sing them with as much soul night after night... and let the guy in the wings hit the high notes.
I know how to travel with four musicians who don't know if they like their singer... and have done it for several years.
I have no criminal record, but am willing to change that.
I will swear off all illegal substances for life, when the first check arrives.
I will switch political parties if Joe Perry says so.
I am accustomed to wearing in-ear monitors.
I live within commuting distance of the band.
I have no interest in hair plugs, Botox, facelifts, animal-print clothes, scarves over the mike stand... or anything else that woudl otherwise confuse me with the "other guy."
and lastly...
the 60,000 bottles that would be thrown at me on a nightly basis -- as would any other replacement most likely receive -- would be a lucrative endeavor just on recycling redemptions by itself... so I would also be the GREEN choice!

To try to continue Aerosmith without Steven Tyler would be ridiculous. He is Aerosmith. I do love Joe Perry, but he needs to start another band if he wants to do that. Otherwise just do stuff on his own. As far as a replacement singer, the only one I could possibly think of who could do their songs is Adam Lambert. His talent is amazing.

I would say Tom Keifer from Cinderella would be the most logical choice to replace Steven Tyler.

If Pelle sang for Aerosmith well, I'd probably start listening to Aerosmith.
