Got stoned the other day with a van full of people and listened to " rainbows". Just wasn't that great. Maybe some people want to say it's great for what it is or something like that, and that might be true, but it's not great like "ok computer" or "the bends" great. Definitely not in the same way. I think SPIN is just trying to point out that not everything that Radiohead does is a masterpiece. The word blow is kinda unnecessary, but, then again, they threw the word kinda in there, so it's not like they're are calling Radiohead a shitty band or anything. Radiohead just kinda blow. The music they make might be great if I wanna lay around in the dark and listen to it, but how many people have actually done that with "in rainbows"? I know I never did, and I regret trying to listen to it in a van full of people. I wish we had listened to "ok computer" or some other album in general. Spin, unsubscribe me... All Points West performance was AMAZING and I was too busy making out w/ my g/f and having my mind blown to be dancing... I understand your point. You don't like Radiohead because they choose to be artists before entertainers, because they want to make music as an expression of emotional truths, instead of simply playing to the crowd like they're all a bunch of fucking idiots. I can see how people who lack any sort of real understanding of music can think that. How this is your number one myth is not only unwarranted, but an insult to your readership's intelligence. I'm not saying you need to need to like, I'm just saying to need to not particularly say it's bad for these reasons. It's okay if you just don't like it, and that's that. I'm saddened to know people actually think this about any band. This magazine go fuck itself in the drunken stupor that is its own unfounded, misguided self-religion.
