By all published accounts, the Strokes haven't even begun to work on their fourth album, but devout fans are offered one hell of a conciliation prize: Albert Hammond Jr.'s solo material. And "GfC," a tune off his forthcoming sophomore set ¿Cómo Te Llama?, out July 8, will certainly ease the potentially long wait.

Pittsburgh, PA: home to the Steelers, plenty of steel mills, and steely fuzz-rock act Modey Lemon. The trio's latest record, Season of Sweets, is primed to hit taste buds June 10, and album cut "It Made You Dumb" is a perfect sampler of the Lemon's noisy, sickeningly sweet racket.

Ratatat have never favored the complicated; their first two records (2004's self-titled debut and its follow up, 2006's Classics) relied heavily on their tried and true formula of gliding guitar hooks and low-rent beats. Thus, it's not hard to be surprised by this cut from their soon-to-be released third effort, LP3, which represents a noticeable departure in sound.
