The marquee attraction on these crafty electro-emo pranksters’ third album is “Good Girls Go Bad,” a sasstastic collaboration with Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester. (Additional TV fun fact: American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi cowrote it!) Yet Hot Mess is flush with other stupid-smart highlights, including “Pete Wentz Is the Only Reason We’re Famous,” a paranoid synth-punk rant in which frontbrat Gabe Saporta insists, “I’m not street, but I do what I gotta do.”
