The brainchild of ex-Lilys member Art DiFuria, Philly's Photon Band renders heavy '60s psychedelia as tasteful light entertainment. After cutting the last two Photon albums solo, he works with eight other musicians here, yet still sounds like a homebound loner. Awash in echo, DiFuria's woozy voice suggests the effects of a mind-numbing substance, while his nimble guitar riffs recall the soulful inclinations of later Hendrix. It's easy to enjoy the bubblegum ballad "Your Doubt, Your Truth" and the churning instrumental "Ka-Blammo," but it's also too easy to forget them.
