Who?: Brooklyn's freaky, electronically-treated Yeasayer, punctuated by the eerie vocals of frontman Chris Keating. The quartet released their heady debut, All Hour Cymbals, in October of 2007 to widespread acclaim; recently, the band wrapped up a stint supporting Beck on the European leg of his Modern Guilt outing.

What? A 21-date tour stretching from October to early December spreading across the U.S. and parts of Canada. After kicking off their sojourn Oct. 22 in Boston, Yeasayer will hit venues in the Midwest and Canada before taking a short respite. The quartet will start again Nov. 19 in Vancouver, making their way down the West Coast before settling into a three-date stay in California. From there, the group will travel straight across the country -- with stops in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia -- before concluding with a two-date homecoming stretch in Brooklyn, NY's Music Hall of Williamsburg Dec. 5-6.

Should I Go? Yes. Yeasayer have built a reputation for hypnotic live performances through constant touring, and this outing promises to be no different with a stage design incorporating projectors and LCD grids to enhance the psychedelic factor. Furthermore, the band has promised to debut new songs that could appear on their sophomore effort (on which Yeasayer will begin work in early 2009), guaranteeing that this batch of performances will be as surprising as they are disorienting.

I'd love to make it to the Chicago date, but I really gotta save my money for Copeland.
