The Beach Boys Announce More Tour Dates Than Marilyn Manson

The recently reunited Beach Boys have announced the dates of their 50th anniversary reunion tour, and with a whopping 37 gigs lined up from mid-April through mid-July, it would seem they’re out to prove they can out-perform bands a third their age.

The first batch of dates includes their appearance at Bonnaroo, which was announced yesterday. (When the band’s label Capitol/EMI announced the reunion back in December, we were promised a 50-date international tour, which means we can expect 13 more destinations!) And, not to harp on the past or anything, but we’re really excited by the prospect of seeing the living members (Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnson, and David Marks) performing without Maroon 5 and Foster the People, like they did (rather unhappily) at the Grammys this past Sunday.

The corresponding new album has no name yet, nor does it have a release date besides "sometime this year," but considering that a legendary band old enough to be your dads (or grandpas!) just announced more than twice the number of dates as the supposedly terrifying Marilyn Manson, we’re not that worried.
