As we here at SPIN.com sit back and look at the past week, we can't help but wonder: Is the U.K. planning a musical takeover? Oasis and Snow Patrol both kicked off massive North American tours; Lily Allen premiered a brand new single and video; Coldplay was slapped with a new lawsuit; and Robbie Williams revealed his, uh, weird drug habits. It appears the invasion has already begun.

A day after Brit rockers Coldplay racked up seven Grammy nominations for their blockbuster record Viva La Vida, it seems their luck has taken a turn for the worse.

Last night, in the first-ever TV concert to celebrate the unveiling of the Grammy nominees, Lil Wayne, who's already poised to walk with 2008's best selling album, led the pack with eight nods, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for his blockbuster Tha Carter III.

Coldplay's Chris Martin would make an excellent project manager. He's all about setting deadlines and increasing productivity. For example: Remember the whole "breaking up by the age of 33, possibly by 2010" thing?
