F*ck Buttons

What’s the Deal? No, they’re not the latest garage-metal-punk-electro- Vice-approved band of the month. This British duo from Bristol owe more to Boards of Canada and tweaked-out, early-oughts electronica than anything seen or heard at the latest Bushwick loft party.Their zen-like arrangements often start out meditative, and when barrels of screaming noise get worked into the mix on tracks like “Bright Tomorrow,” the realization comes entirely too late to shy away.

Who? Andrew Hung and Benjamin John Power hail from Bristol, the British town that also spawned the bulk of trip-hop’s superstars: Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc. And that’s not a surprising realization when listening to the dark, methodical Street Horrrsing, out this week.

Fun Fact: Nothing too ridiculous here, other than a bit of info: You can catch Fuck Buttons on tour with Caribou throughout the U.S. and Canada right now. Click here for dates.
