Dave Navarro, Duff McKagan to Play Benefit Gig

The cream of the L.A. music scene will gather this Saturday at a benefit for Twilight Singers bassist Scott Ford.

Let's make some good come out of something bad. Scott Ford, bassist for the Greg Dulli-led Twilight Singers, was recently compelled to have surgery for a life-threatening periodontal condition. The procedure cost Ford, who also hosts a popular online radio show on his website fordradio.blogspot.com, $50,000.

Smashing Pumpkins main man Billy Corgan launched his latest endeavor, Spirits in the Sky, last night at the tiny, 225-capacity Cellar Door in Visalia, California, with Jane's Addiction axeman Dave Navarro, fresh from his band's massive tour with Nine Inch Nails, joining in on guitar.

The lineup for New Orleans' Voodoo Experience music festival has been unveiled, and it's packed with some of music's heaviest hitters: Eminem, the Flaming Lips, and Jane's Addiction are scheduled to headline the event, which will take place Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 at the Big Easy's City Park.
