This week we launched an all-new daily feature on SPIN.com -- an opinionated (and humorous) editors' blog. And SPIN editors certainly had a lot on their minds: Against Me!'s live performance, Feist's influence on childrens' musical tastes, Oasis' staying power, MGMT's seriousness (of lack thereof), and more -- but thankfully, Joe the Plumber isn't included.

After undergoing a major remodel, Hollywood's historic Palladium Theatre reopened with a bang Wednesday night thanks to an enthralling performance from Jay-Z and DJ AM. A sold-out crowd gathered for the set, which saw the hip-hop mogul and his DJ play for nearly two hours.

The Brooklyn-bred rapper is putting his support behind presidential candidate Barack Obama with two free shows this weekend in Detroit and Miami, MTV.com reports. The concerts -- set for Oct. 4 at Detroit's Cobo Arena and Oct.
