Well, the gates have opened: Meet Jonah Hex, the upcoming film adaptation of the comic book series starring the sexpot actress and featuring an all-new soundtrack from the Atlanta quartet!

Is synergy the new trend in metal? Arguable kings of the genre, Mastodon, have joined with Dethklok -- the real-life version of the animated band from the Adult Swim show Metalocalypse -- as co-headliners on a 34-city tour sponsored by the offbeat TV network.

Heavy metal icons Mastodon will hit the road with Dethklok, the real-life version of the animated band from the Adult Swim show Metalocalypse, for a co-headlining tour this October and November.

The 34-city jaunt will kick off October 2 in Portland, OR, and take the bands across the U.S. and into Canada before ending on November 19 in Los Angeles.

"Has anyone seen Brent?" It's 1:30 on a cold, rainy Friday afternoon in late February. The members of Mastodon had planned on meeting a half-hour ago at El Myr, a colorful, run-down Mexican cantina that serves as unofficial HQ for the band here in their hometown of Atlanta.

Mastodon's Birmingham, AL, tour-opener Friday night at the 450-person capacity WorkPlay Theater was packed with frontman Brent Hinds' hometown friends, who slugged beers, moshed, and threw their devil horns to the sky from start to finish.

It was a big party in a small house -- and the local metalheads put on quite a show.
