Oasis' tour opener in Seattle may have gone off without a hitch, but the band's appearance at Toronto's Virgin Mobile Festival last night was a different scenario, with a wild fan running onstage to attack Noel Gallagher as he strummed through Britpop classic "Morning Glory."

Bathed in violet light, the stage of Seattle's WAMU Theater was set last night for an evening of prodigious musicianship from fabled Britpop stalwarts Oasis, who began the North American leg of their world tour to a sold-out audience.

After more than a month of obscurity, Oasis have finally named a U.S. distributor for their forthcoming seventh album; The Gallaghers' Big Brother Recordings has joined forces with Warner Bros. for the stateside release of Dig Out Your Soul, the band's follow up to 2006's Lord Don't Slow Me Down, set to arrive Oct. 7.
