Plain White T’s Rockin’ the Suburbs of St. Louis

In an area where the St. Louis Cardinals are king, a few Chicagoans are greeted with open arms. But rivalries were forgotten when the high-spirited Chicago quintet, Plain White T’s, took the stage for their third show on their first headlining tour. Amidst shouts of marriage proposals from amorous fans, the band played an hour-long set that included a variety of tunes from each of their three studio long players.

Highlights from the rollicking set included the popular “Hate (I Really Don’t Like You)” and “Let Me Take You There,” both of which are included on their energetic 2006 effort, Every Second Counts. No doubt, the crowd favorite came during the encore, in which lead vocalist Tom Higgenson took the stage with an acoustic guitar, and gently serenaded the adoring crowd with “Hey There Delilah.” JUDITH TIGNER / PHOTOS BY KRISTINA FENGL
