Thao Nguyen drafted This American Life‘s Ira Glass and comedian John Hodgman to sing along in the video for “We the Common [for Valerie Bolden],” and the singer-songwriter has followed up that clip with another lip sync-heavy short, this time for “Holy Roller.” The song was the first that Nguyen wrote for We the Common, her third album with backing band the Get Down Stay Down, and the video, directed by Mimi Cave, features a cast of performers, Nguyen included. The bunch, of all colors and creeds, sing the tune and mug for the camera as their eye and mouths get swapped around cut-and-paste style.
