Longing for the old M.I.A.? Diplo, the Sri Lankan rapper’s sometime collaborator who called her new album, MAYA, a “turd,” certainly is. So, on Wednesday, he posted one of their previously unreleased collabos to his website. Listen below!

“[It] has sick lyrics and a classic M.I.A. vibe,” he Tweeted. And he’s not kidding. The unnamed track, though just a demo, is rife with the lo-fi and arty yet pop-minded style of tracks like her Pineapple Express hit “Paper Planes.” And, as we’ve come to expect, the lyrics are a stab at societal norms: “Down with the scene that makes us so numb,” she spits over a glitchy electro effects and a minimal drum machine beat. “You can have my money / But can’t have me / Gimme shit I don’t need / Generation X & Y we’re already dead.”

“I might leak the real version if u guys want,” Diplo added of the demo track. Yes! Yes, we want!

Listen to the M.I.A. / Diplo collabo, then tell us what you think in the comment section.
