Watch: Jeff Tweedy Pays Tribute to John Lennon

Wilco’s John Stirrat and Pat Sansone are currently touring with their side-project the Autumn Defense, but at a Charlottesville, Virginia, gig last week, the duo brought out Wilco leader Jeff Tweedy for a surprise collaboration: a cover of John Lennon’s “God.”

The group performed the tune to honor to Lennon and the 30th anniversary of his death on December 8. And while they deliver a mostly faithful rendition of the tune, Tweedy did offer up one change. “I just believe in me,” he sings. “Wilco and me.”
