Paramore Share Love-Buzzed Single ‘Still Into You’ Via Shadow-Puppet Lyric Video

Paramore, "Still Into You," single, lyric video

Love can be a battlefield, but it sure doesn’t have to be. “Now,” the first single from Paramore’s upcoming fourth album, hoisted a flag for defiant resilience, meshing a more booming take on No Doubt’s cheeky chic with Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ art-punk skuzz. “Still Into You,” which the Tennessee band just revealed in lyric video form, is, by contrast, a giddy power-pop love song, spiced with Gotye-like skeletal guitar lines, indie-dance glockenspiel, and burbling synths. This kind of thing is new for the band, frontwoman Hayley Williams told SPIN, explaining, “We wrote ‘The Only Exception’ a while ago, and that song is definitely like a slow love ballad, and this is totally not that song.” In keeping with the music’s hook-packed exuberance, the lyric video is also on the sweet side, showing shadow puppets talking to each other amid occasionally flashing lights. Get into it.

Paramore, the group’s first album since 2009’s brand new eyes, is due out April 9 on Fueled by Ramen. SPIN happened to catch Paramore at South By Southwest last night, and, guess what, they turned out to be one of the five best things we saw.
