Soundgarden staged a triumphant return last year with the release of King Animal, the band’s first original LP in 16 years. Now, for a well-deserved treat, the Seattle monsters of rock will issue a limited-edition vinyl featuring demos from the King Animal sessions.

The Superunknown foursome announced on Facebook today (March 14) that they’ll collect six songs for a worldwide 10-inch Record Store Day release pressed on pink vinyl. According to the band, the upcoming disc will mark the first time this material has been packaged together. Fans who pick up a copy on April 20 will also get a free digital download card.

Record Store Day also promises exclusives from the White Stripes, MGMT, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Cut Copy, Stephen Malkmus, Nicolas Jaar, Garbage, and many more.
