Vampire Weekend Spent Easter With Steve Buscemi and His Megaphone

Vampire Weekend, Steve Buscemi

As Vampire Weekend prep the May 14 release of upcoming album Modern Vampires of the City, they appeared in the city with one of modern cinema’s more vampiric character actors. As Pitchfork points out, the New York City band teamed up with Steve Buscemi to pass out treats yesterday at the Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival in Manhattan. A clip originally posted by Coup De Main shows Buscemi loosely singing the chorus from Modern Vampires‘ jaunty “Diane Young,” one of three new songs the group recently performed for Canadian Broadcast Channel’s QTV. They were wearing funny hats, the band had recently tweeted (joke or not, who’s to say) about a distant-cousin relationship between Buscemi and bassist Chris Baio, and there are lots of bizarre photos on the band’s Instagram feed. So yes, Vampire Weekend spent their Easter with Mr. Pink.
