Gwen Stefani, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts Descend on James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Megawatt pop star Gwen Stefani and awkward chauffeur James Corden drove through Los Angeles on The Late Late Show‘s “Carpool Karaoke” segment last night, singing No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak,” and Stefani solo singles like “The Sweet Escape,” “Used to Love You,” and “Rich Girl.” They needed four passengers to drive in the HOV lane, so they dialed up George Clooney (who has “nothing to do”) and Julia Roberts for an ensemble performance of “Hollaback Girl” and Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”

Stefani gave Corden a lesson in the tongue-twisting “acting like sour milk” lyric from “The Sweet Escape”; Corden took it upon himself to teach Stefani the meaning of the eggplant emoji. “The eggplant is this guy,” Corden says, taking both hands off the wheel to point at his crotch. “The truth, I call it.” Why does he call it “the truth”? “Because the truth hurts.”

“Do you know the name of my record?” Stefani asks. “Do you know the name of my record?
