Pop-emo figureheads Brand New surprised an El Paso audience last night when lead singer Jesse Lacey did a solo cover of the eponymous track from singer/songwriter Julien Baker‘s breakthrough album of last year. The master is covering the teacher, apparently, since Baker is certainly following in the tradition of acts like Brand New and the early Dashboard Confessional.
