On November 6, Feist will take the stage in Montreal along with a slew of other musicians, actors, and comedians (from Lana Del Rey to Philip Glass to Seth Rogen) to celebrate the life, art, and legacy of Leonard Cohen. Previously Feist took the stage at the Juno Awards in Canada to honor Cohen with a cover of his early-career standard “Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye.” (The album it’s drawn from, Cohen’s debut Songs of Leonard Cohen, will turn 50 next month.) Feist has now released a studio version of her cover, loosely emulating Cohen’s original recording with a spare accompaniment of acoustic guitar and pealing backing vocals.

Recently, Feist paid tribute to another recently-departed Canadian great with a cover of Gord Downie’s “The Stranger.” Listen to her take on “Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye” below.
