Aretha Franklin Memorial Concert to Feature Gladys Knight, The Four Tops, Ron Isley, More: Report

Following Aretha Franklin‘s open-casket viewing and prior to her funeral in Detroit, the city’s Chene Park will host a memorial concert for the soul legend, as the Detroit Free Press reports. Franklin was born in Detroit and died there last week surrounded by her family. Sources told DFP that Gladys Knight, Johnny Gill, Ronald Isley and Karen Clark-Sheard were among the planned performances at the free outdoor concert, but TMZ has obtained a reported list of 23 scheduled musical performers:

TMZ also reports that Louis Farrakhan will be attending the event. Prior to Franklin’s death, legendary music executive Clive Davis was planning a tribute concert for the singer, songwriter, and pianist was announced for November, which is slated to be held at New York’s Madison Square Garden in November.
