‘Boys Don’t Cry,’ But Frank Ocean’s Fans Do: A Twitter Roundup

Frank Ocean Dad Russell Simmons Lawsuit 142 million

It has officially been more than three grueling years of waiting for the new Frank Ocean album. His last full-length, Channel Orange, came out in 2012; not only SPIN‘s Album of the Year and otherwise critically adored, it opened the eyes (and ears) of music fans across the country, kickstarting crucial conversations about sexuality in the genre.

Now fans are starting to lose patience as they hold their collective breath for the release of Ocean’s next release Boys Don’t Crywhich the singer promised on Tumblr would  drop in July (it’s almost f—king August, man). Maybe it’s some obscure social experiment or just a new form of music-dropping torture. Maybe he’ll never even release it, but for the sake of hundreds of hysterical fans on Twitter, we hope that’s far from the case. Distract yourself from your Frank Withdrawal and check out some of fans’ most miserable tweets below.
